Step-by-step route

Recovering after trauma

Steps

  1. Ask your doctor (family or unit doctor) for a rehabilitation referral — it should start as early as possible.
  2. Disability is assessed by an expert team evaluating daily functioning (replacing the former MSEK commissions); your doctor makes the referral.
  3. Check your rights to assistive devices, prosthetics, benefits and payments with a support specialist or at CNAP.
  4. Do not neglect mental health: after injury, support is needed not only for the body.
  5. If your home or workplace needs adapting, contact your community’s social protection office.
