Accessibility

We aim for WCAG 2.1 AA. Found a barrier? Tell us and we will fix it.

What is in place

Keyboard

The whole site can be navigated with Tab. The first press reveals the “Skip to main content” link. Focus is always visible.

Screen readers

Headings follow a hierarchy, forms have labels, diagrams have text descriptions, decorative animation is hidden from announcement.

Motion

If “reduce motion” is enabled in your system, the site stops the map, background and reveal animations. Or press “Stop animation” in the “Aa” panel.

Contrast and zoom

Body text has a contrast of at least 8:1 against the 4.5:1 requirement. Pages do not break at 200% zoom.

What is still missing

No easy-read version and no sign-language translation. Planned, but for now we say it plainly: not yet.

Found a barrier

Email hello@gradientcenter.org with the subject “Accessibility”. We reply within five working days and tell you when it will be fixed.

The “Aa” panel

The site header (on phones — the menu) has an “Aa” button: text size, high contrast (black on white), wider spacing, stop animation and word-start highlighting. Each setting is switched on separately and remembered only in this browser — nothing is sent to us.

Standard and testing

We aim for WCAG 2.1 level AA. Pages are checked automatically (axe-core) and manually with a keyboard and a screen reader before each update. This statement was last updated on 30 September 2026.
