Step-by-step route
Demobilisation and the first months home
Steps
- Get your discharge documents and check that your combatant status is registered.
- Find your veteran support specialist: Diia → “Veteran PRO” → “Find a specialist”, or via your local administrative services centre (CNAP).
- Make a plan together: benefits and payments, healthcare and rehabilitation, housing, study or work.
- Give yourself time. Poor sleep, tension and irritability in the first months are common reactions — and worth talking about.
- Looking for work or a new profession? Ask for employment support.
